Mr Mauerer:

Since I've made the same mistake of thinking I could attach a file to a
newsgroup article, I can't be overly critical. But rest assured, such files
get encoded and aren't really appropriate (in my vew) to the newsgroup.

The case in point, a .lsp file, can easily be unzipped and given a reasonable
file length simple posted in its normal ascii form. I'm sure that more people
would benefit from such practice over the encoding of such information.
