Pacific Data Protracer Driver

Pacific Data Protracer Driver

Post by Joan Port » Mon, 03 Mar 1997 04:00:00

We recently upgraded to Windows 95 and run Autocad R12 for Windows.
The Pacific Data Protracer Plotter that we have needs an updated
driver for W95.  Can anyone tell me where i can find one?

We upgraded about a year ago.  I have searched everywhere that I can think
of for new drivers.  Pacific Data upgraded the Protracer II only. I guess
the almost new old plotter/printers have to be thrown away.

We shouldn't really be surprised I guess, money talks.

If you do find a driver Please e-mail me.

I should ask if you are using Acad r.12, if so contact the tech. support
for Pacific Data and they can tell you how make a *.inf file to load and
it will work with 12 & Win95.  I have done this successfully.

Thanks
Stan Willis

The standard BL330 drivers will work if you want a Windows System
printer.  You can use your Win 3.1 system printer drivers in Win95,
however some applications don't like them.  For handling plot files,
your best solution will be to use something like PrintGL.  This takes
a HP-GL or HP-GL/2 plot file and outputs it to various printers.
PrintGL directly supports the ProTracer.

I too am looking for drivers for a ProTracer II from Pacific Data.  It seems
that the company has gone out of business, and no one is providing support for
the printer.  I'm looking for drivers for R13 Win95/NT.  If anyone has one of
the later driver disketts and the above instructions for the *.inf file I could
really use them.   Otherwise I've got a printer for sale.  Cheap.
