Export a Modeler Sheet View to a 2D DGN or DXF file

Post by We » Sat, 20 Oct 2001 23:25:23

I'm a user of the latest MicroStation Modeler V7.1
Does anyone know a good way to export a sheet view to a 2D DGN or DXF?
In the way I normally export the sheet view I have a lot of repair
work to the 2D DGN.
Now I'm exporting the sheet view to a visible edges file, but this
requires a lot of extra work.

Thanx a lot for a quick reaction,

Wes

Hi Wes,

In MicroStation Modeler 7.1, key-in MDL LOAD SAVSHEET, and then key-in
MODELER SAVE SHEET. A dialog box will appear to specify filename and path.
This recent enhancement will export the entire contents of a sheet view to
an external 3D sheet (.s01) file.  This file would then need to be
converted to 2D (or any other format you wish).

I do a 'fence file" = {new name} of what I want in the 2d, this will make a
new 3d file, then I export this to 2d (be sure to have view 1 active . I've
tried the MDL LOAD SAVSHEET but this is slooooooooooooooooooooooow.

key in     ff=newfile  and click the view

There is not a "good" way as we users would like to see but run deldup32 to
get rid of some  of the duplicate lines... deldup32 is probably available on
the bentley ftp site or bear might have it on his 'Forward thinking.com'
site

Your absolutely right!  MickeyCad stinks in this regard.  Actually,  nothing
on Microstinkshit works properly.  I guess I've worked with it for too
long......sorry if I've offended anyone
