Help! AutoCAD won't plot for me!

Please help!

I'm running AutoCAD R13/c4 on an HP Vectra XU 6/150 with Windows NT 3.51 and am trying to plot to
a HP DesignJet 650c plotter via LANMAN. I'm fairly sure AutoCAD is configured correctly and my
sysadmin spent alot of time trying to get it to plot. All other applications have no problem
outputting from the plotter and it plotted fine before I upgraded from AutoCAD R13 c3 / Windows 3.1
on a HP Vectra XU 5/90c.

When I plot from AutoCAD it alerts me that:

"The operating system detected the following error(s)on lpt2.
*Unable to set port parameters."

Is this a common error? Any ideas on a fix other than going back to pre-upgrade conditions?

Thanks,
----
Kevin

The way you have the system configured it letting Acad try to adress the
printer port directly. This is a no-no in NT.

You can install the NT version of the HP driver for the plotter or you can
enable "autospooling" . I'm not the hardware savvy guy here - there are
probably other options as well. Just rest assured that it's emmintenty
do-able.

I recieve the same error while printing using r13/Win95/Novell3.11.
I hooked the laser printer direct instead of the network, but I do need
a fix.

Dear Kevin Polley,

If you have trouble talking to the LPT2 port form autocad you could plot
to a file and have another program pick up the file and spool it to your
LPT2 device. A windows plot spooler would do this and here is the Address
of a Demo.

Plotting problems with R13 C4: sounds familiar.  I recently posted
about a slightly different problem I'm having with R13/DOS/Netware
3.12 with an HP750C (for which I've still found no solution). The
common theme, however, is that the problem definitely started when I
installed the C4 patch.

I certainly hope Autodesk is working on their C5 patch to correct
this "feature" of the C4 patch.
