Brian:
You have to detach the xref to eliminate xref-dependent layers. If
VISRETAIN=1, then you have to ensure that the layers are still present in
the xref before it's attached. The soon-to-be-released SuperPurge 2.0 will
be able to purge xref-dependent layers, so watch for an announcement here
when it is released. :)

If you explode the bound xrefs and purge, that should do it...ifQuote:> Purge binded Xref layers,

1. How to purge blocks generated by XREF BIND
I was trying to purge blocks & layers generated by BINDING a
Xref. block. Purge command does not purge it.
i.e.
inside drawing 101.dwg contain :
layer : 0, A1 and A2
Block : B1 and B2
inside drawing 102.dwg contain :
xref : 101
layer : 0, 101|A1 and 101|A2
block : 101|B1 and 101|B2
After Bind 101 by using the command XREF BIND 101 and delete the block
101
102.dwg contain :
block : 101, 101$0$B1 and 101$0$B2
layer : 0, 101$0$A1 and 101$0$A2
Right now, I can not purge those layer 101$0$A1 & 101$0$A2 and;
those block 101, 101$0$B1 & 101$0$B2.
Can anybody tells me how to purge those unnecessary stuff.
