QTerm is a vt100 emulator; apparently it's quite good as it stands,
but there is a version for the PCW which will allow error-free use
of speeds like 9600 baud (depending on your modem, of course). I
don't know of any ftp sites etc that have it (ftp.demon.co.uk
possibly?); however I believe Paul Westlake of PCW PD in the UK has
If ANSI emulation is all you need, you could try ANSI102.COM; I
assume you're writing in the US, in which case I don't know where
you could get hold of it; it's currently on several CP/M boards in
the UK, which is expensive. It works with ordinary comms programs
such as MEX and ZMP; it would probably work with MAIL232 (although I
haven't tried it) and I doubt very much it would work with Mini Office Pro.
While on the subject...does anyone out there have a list of the
vt100 escape codes? I'm looking into the possibility of rewriting
ANSI102.COM to recognise vt100 codes as well as ANSI codes. Help?

There's lots of CP/M free/shareware around; there also appears to be
a lot of CP/M bulletin boards in the US, which would carry this sort
of thing. If you can, have a look in the CPMTECH echo on Fidonet for
some phone numbers.
There's also lots of public domain and (I think) shareware available
at the ftp site at oak.oakland.edu, in the directory /pub/cpm.
Unfortunately I don't have ftp access yet so I don't know what's there.

You might mean Z8E, which is a public domain Z80 debugger by Rick
Surwilo. I don't know which C compiler you've got, but I've heard
that the Hi-Tech CP/M C compiler (previously commercial, now PD) is
available at oak.oakland.edu. I think there's also a good
ex-commercial Pascal compiler (JRT Pascal?) and there's lots of PD
compilers for other languages (Cobol, Forth, etc).
