PGP plugin 4.9.2 [UTF8 fix] for Pegasus Mail released

Version 4.9.2 / 2-2003 (9.2.2003):

- The most important innovation refers to PGP 8: Newly with this version
created user IDs get UTF8-encoded for improving internationalization.
Because of this a new conversion library called UTF8.dll is now part of
the extension package.
- Two more changes only apply to using the extension with PGP versions 7 &
8: With both these it is now possible to use their internal functions for
encrypting passphrases and wiping files.
- Additionally there are, like always, some minor internal enhancements
including the new capability of im- and exporting keys using files or
clipboard via menu entries or buttons in case no reader or editor windows
are in the foreground.
- And finally, amongst others, a problem with handling attachment
information in signed messages with attachments has been fixed.

Version 4.9.2 / 2-2003 (9.2.2003):

Although I don't quite understand your question: PGP 8 now uses UTF8
encoding for user IDs and passphrases, and to display them correctly I
need to decode them and vice versa when searching for user IDs on PGP's
keyrings. PGP itself does all this implicitely, so when using a key with
new user IDs or passphrases with previous versions of PGP you'll either
see some "strange" (8bit) characters or not be able to enter your
passphrase any more (if it contains 8bit characters).

Well, long, long ago I'd already changed this: I'm simply using PGP's own
passphrase dialogs ever since I new PM was saving passphrases in plain
text to disk (David Harris finally changed this for version 4). But I've
also provided a way to chache passphrases for longer periods in PGP's
secure memory after using PGP itself for encrypting them. With PGP 7 & 8
it's now also possible to use PGP's on internal passphrase encoding
(creating a so-called passkey) for keeping them in secure memory - that's
what I've changed now.
