PGP 2.6.3ia question about key creation

PGP 2.6.3ia question about key creation

Post by Jan Dobruck » Sat, 27 Jan 2001 06:25:28

I'm using PGP 2.6.3ia. I had a couple of 'accidents' cause I forgot my passphrase. My question is then, what commands do I need to use to set an expiration date on a new key pair?
Thanx in advance.

you cant do that with 2.6.3ia

actually I have modified 2.6.3 so that can set an expiration date.

it includes following changes:
** Supports CAST5 and IDEA cipher for conventional encryption.
** Supports RSA keys up to 4096 bit
** Does not *if DSS/DH signatures and keys found in key files
** Supports key expiration time

I still not finished with testing, but I hope it will be ready someday next week.
(do you/someone want to test it ? I can give it..)

1. Help: Adding Keys to PGP 2.6.3ia from Keyserver

I tried to add Stale Schumacher's 1024 bit RSA key from the Keyserver to PGP
2.6.3.ia's public keyring.
The Key ID is CCEF447D.

I want to make sure that my copy of PGP263ia has not been tampered with.

When I try to add the key I get the message "Unsupported Packet Format - You
need a newer version of PGP for this file"

Why do I get the message?? I am just trying to add an RSA key??

I didn't think there were differences in RSA keys.

Pse anyone have any ideas?
