Client Server, Java, and ODBC

Client Server, Java, and ODBC

Post by Vish Canar » Sat, 25 Nov 1995 04:00:00

Hey there I'm trying to write a client app in Java to access a MS SQL
Server (6.0) hopefully via ODBC.

Question:

Has anyone done this before and if you have would you mind letting me
know how much of a pain it was?

Is anyone developing or aware of any ODBC Java classes
available for use?

Has anyone tried Java/CGI/ODBC as a solution to this sort of problem?

Any help would be greatly appreciated
Thanks in advance

Having a similar problem, I would appreciate to see the answer posted
in this newsgroup.

I don't know if it is relevant for your work, but Intermetrics (if I don't
remember wrong) are making an Ada95-compiler that will make Java byte-codes
(the same as a compiled java-program), so finding a package for Ada (both
specification and body) that does the job will soon be one solution to
problems like that.

1. java on the client side java and/or C++ on the server?

Hi all,
Which ORB allows writing clients in java and servers in java and/or C++?

Does OrbixWeb allow only java client and java server?

Thanks
