Correct - we've got several job openings.  We're in Fenton, Missouri -
a suburb of St. Louis.

Chicago IL area has several game development firms--Midway, FASA, High
Voltage are just a few.  If you are a member of Gamasutra website--
www.gamasutra.com--(I think membership is still free) you can search
Gamasutra's Company Directories by state.  Go to www.gamasutra.com,
Places to Work, at the bottom,  click on Companies.  Then select Game
Developers, enter a state code (ex: OH) and click on search.  I tried
this for  "OH" and there were several listings for Columbia and
Cincinnati;  however, none I could tell that were game development
firms.  Most  were distributors and publishers.  One company listed,
Pyrotechnix, used to be a game developer but now develops tools used
to build games.

Correction - when you get to the Directories page, choose ADVANCED
SEARCH.  Then select Game Developers, enter a state abbreviation, and
click on Search.

Having moved from St. Louis to Seattle (by way of NYC) I'd highly
recommend it, but if not:

Pop Top (MO)
Simutronics (MO)
Volition (IL)
Outrage (MI...Michigan is MI, right?)
Incredible Technologies (IL)
Midway (IL...I think)

I think there are more, and then there are all the ones in Texas.
Search on www.dejanews.com because this question has come up before.

Add Bungie, Konami, Kinesoft, High Voltage, Mission Studios and
probably 20 more in the Chicago area.  Not sure where you'd find a
directory.

Volition is hiring.  Visit http://www.volition-inc.com

Texas isn't the Midwest.  It's Texas. :)

Meyer/Glass Interactive (Axis and Allies) is in Chicago, and we are going to
be hiring in the very near future.

Yeah, and Champaign-Urbana was just named a "Hot New Tech City" by
Newsweek magazine (although "New" hardly descibes a pair of towns that
have been around since the mid-1800s, and "Hot" hardly describes the
temperature there right now ;-)

Given it is still in the 60's here in Chicago Hot sums it up quite nicely.

It was over 20C (like 70F) here in Toronto today.  Considering it's
December, this is truly bizarre.
