Chicago IL area has several game development firms--Midway, FASA, High
Voltage are just a few. If you are a member of Gamasutra website--
www.gamasutra.com--(I think membership is still free) you can search
Gamasutra's Company Directories by state. Go to www.gamasutra.com,
Places to Work, at the bottom, click on Companies. Then select Game
Developers, enter a state code (ex: OH) and click on search. I tried
this for "OH" and there were several listings for Columbia and
Cincinnati; however, none I could tell that were game development
firms. Most were distributors and publishers. One company listed,
Pyrotechnix, used to be a game developer but now develops tools used
to build games.
