Cslip-2.7 & Trumpet-tcpman, are they friends?

Cslip-2.7 & Trumpet-tcpman, are they friends?

Post by Z. Zh » Sat, 25 Jun 1994 00:17:59

I have installed cslip-2.7 on a sparc10/sunos4.1.3. I tried to use
trumpet-tcpman/slip to dial-slip-login the sparc. So far, I have got
no success.

1. I put the phone # in login.cmd, when I start tcpman, it olny
initializes the modem and noise, but doesn't really dial. I have to
use "manual login" in the Dialler options.

2. After the 'login:' showing up, I tried login as user Slipper. But,
the login will fail instantly. The signal says:
sliplogin: .... exit 1, login failed.

It seems I don't get the correct configuration on ether Cslip server
or tcpman-slip client, maybe both. If you have a similar system, or
similar experience, or know the secret to the success, please help me.

BTW, I am using a ZyXEL 1496+ modem on the sparc, ATT dataport 14.4 on
a pc. There is no problem for me to dialin from pc to sparc and tip out
(old tip or new tip coming with cslip-2.7) from sparc to anywhere.
But, for slip, where is the problem?

Regards,

ZiZi
