mice or mouses?

Post by Mick » Sun, 07 Dec 1997 04:00:00

Need to know for school.  If I have a computer mouse in my left hand and
another in my right, am I holding 2 mice or two mouses????  If you know,
I would also appreciate knowing how you know!  Thanks.

Two rodents or two mice.  Use rodents it's better.

Actually you are holding two computer input devices.  I know this because I
have done it also.

Either term is quite fine.  Mouses is a little more obscure because it
inherently sounds incorrect, however webster's dictionary defines it to be
correct since it is referring to the inanimate object Mouse rather than the
biological entity mouse.  It therefore does not follow the usual plurality
conventions.

Check it out at their web site.

1. Mouse Driver for Win 95 Ideal/Alphacom Mouse

In spite of an extensive search I have been unable to find the above
mouse manufacturer listed and have therefore been unable to locate a new
driver at either www.windrivers.com nor www.driverguide.com etc etc.

I have tried to use the latest microsoft generic driver (v9.01) but this
does not seem to install satisfactorily and so I am stuck ATM with
v8.25.

I am running Win 95 on a Cyrix 686-200 processor with 32Mb RAM

The reason for the need for a new driver is a problem with running my
sons' new game - Final Liberation which hangs up repeatedly at the start
of play. The suppliers of this game blame either the mouse driver or
graphics drivers.

Any help appreciated - please reply personally as well as the group, in
case I miss it.

Thanks
