bind problem

Post by data.21.. » Fri, 27 Jun 2003 21:17:43

I'm using Orbix Version v3.0.1 (PATCH_35)  for SunPro SPARCompiler C++
4.2 on Solaris 2.x and I have some problem registering a server with

I do
putit -java -jdk2 -addpath .:XXX.jar -port 20202 Authenticator

I see Authenticator with lsit and catit -x Authenticator
Server details for server  : Authenticator

   Comms           : tcp
   Code            : cdr
   Activation      : shared
   Owner           : tisdgt01
   Launch          : ;all;
   Invoke          : ;all;
   Well known port : 20202

      Marker         Launch Command

      *              ###ORBIXWEB### -addpath .:XXX.jar

But when I launch the client I get an Exception during bind
org.omg.CORBA.COMM_FAILURE: host/20202  minor code: 12082  completed:

Without setting the port in the client with OrbConfig, I get the
Exception during bind org.omg.CORBA.BAD_OPERATION: remote exception -
Invalid operation
    The server `(unknown)' is not registered in the implementation
    (Use the 'putit' command to register a new server.)  minor code:
10241  completed: No

A java process is up but I don't see Authenticator with psit!

Now the question: may I download OrbixWeb anywhere to do some test on

1. bind problem

If I call bind() with my IP address different from the one on my boot
line in my config.h file the function fails with an EADDRNOTAVAIL

if I use for example:
serverAddr.sin_addr.s_addr = inet_addr("");
or set s_addr to zero (ANY) then bind works.

Does anyone know how I can set up a server with a different address
than the one for booting?
