A new Design Pattern Study Group has formed in New York City and has recently
started meeting. See http://www.industriallogic.com/patterns/index.html for
more details on the groups that have already been formed. The website
for the new group is not connected to the main site yet but will be within
days.
Here are the specifics on the new group.
This new group is beginning a systematic study of the recently released book
"Pattern-Oriented Software Architecture Volume 2: Patterns for Concurrent
and Networked Objects" (www.cs.wustl.edu/~schmidt/POSA). Anyone is welcome to
attend. The next meeting is Monday October 23rd a 7:00 pm at
Space Untitled in New York City
(http://www.industriallogic.com/patterns/ili_nyc_loc.html).
We are just beginning with the book and, in fact, will be taking up Chapter 1
,"Concurrent and Networked Objects", this Monday. A full agenda of
the remaining weekly meetings is going to be posted on the web shortly. In the
meantime feel free to send me email if you have any questions and/or would
like to attend.
I am posting it here as many of the patterns are at the core many of the
existing middleware implementations.
