connection problem

Post by Amadeu K. Su » Sun, 09 Apr 2000 04:00:00

Thank for the help with my previous problem (p4_error), but
now I seem to have another one. I am trying to start my
program with two processor and after some MPI functions are
called, I get:

p1_1735:  p4_error: interrupt SIGSEGV: 11
rm_l_1_1736:  p4_error: interrupt SIGINT: 2
p0_12776: (0.308562) Trying to receive a message when there
are no connections; Bailing out

I am running mpich 1.2.0 in a LINUX system. Can anyone help?
Thanks again.

Your program is crashing with a SEGV and then the other process is trying to send
a message to the process which died.

You need to debug it. (Of course, as I write it and get paid from the licenses
which get sold, I'd recommend using TotalView. You can probably get by
with gdb somehow, though. Free TotalView demo licenses are available too !)

1. Strange connection problem with my AGFA SNAPSCAN 1236S scanner

I had an old computer to which a AGFA SNAPSCAN 1236S was plugged. Although a
SCSI scanner, it was plugged to a parallel port for some reason I cannot
recall, and all worked well.  I have reimplaced the box, reinstalling all my
old drives and cards (including a SCSI one for my burner). Of course my
scanner does not work now (it is not recognized by the computer).  I just
kept the old cable for the connection, and the cable fits the parallel port,
not the outer port of the scsi port. I have no other cable, and I cannot
figure out how the whole thing could have worked till now. The installation
documents say the scanner has to be connected to the SCSI card, but it was
not so in the past.
