Hello,

I try to work with MP Connect on a MVS System.
But when I use one of the example programs,
I always get an error: "connection link failure: SASVXMS not found"
Does anybody succesful used MP Connect on a MVS system?
Can you send me an example program and what kind of configuration is needed?

I see you haven't gotten a reply so maybe I can help with a portion of
it. I have successfully dome mp connect from unix to oracle and could
provide the program as an example if you would like.
The "sasvxms not found" should be researched by your tech support for
the mvs/sas system at your shop.
Sounds as if the 2 operating systems are not successfully
communicating/establishing a mutual session.

I use MP/CONNECT in the UNIX environment.

MP/CONNECT is part of SAS/CONNECT, and I think your error message is telling
you that a SAS executable that should have been installed during SAS/CONNECT
installation process is not there.  Here are some things to look at for
troubleshooting.

(1) Are you sure that SAS/CONNECT is properly installed on your MVS system?
Maybe it's not. Check the setinit log.
(2) I don't know how the MVS file system is set up, but if it's anything
like UNIX or Windows then the SAS/CONNECT software should be in a directory
named something like \SAS_Institute\SAS\V8\Connect.  Check to see if there
are subdirectories with files in this directory.
(3) One of the subdirectories is named sasexe.  That's where you should find
SASVXMS.DLL, I think.
(4) Are there any hot fixes for SAS/CONNECT under MVS that haven't been
installed?
