Need conversion from CP/M -> DOS/MAC

Need conversion from CP/M -> DOS/MAC

Post by Sunil Ga » Fri, 30 Sep 1994 19:21:54

I have some CP/M disks with some program source on it and I need to read
this info into either a DOS or MAC machine. Can anyone suggest who might
be able to provide this service ? Any help would be appreciated and I'm sorry
if this question has already been asked before but I am not a regular on this
group and I am doing this for a friend.

Easiest way is to get the original cp/m machine up with MEX or other comms
program running xmodem protocol and transfer via a serial line to a mac
running a comms program with the same (xmodem) protocol. Failing that, the
22disk (a pc shareware utility) will run on a pc and likely read your disk
format directly on the pc. Then transfer the cp/m file from the pc to the
mac via a serial line and comms programs, some network both systems share,
or, assuming you can put the cp/m files on a 3.5" HDD dos floppy, via mac's
Apple File exchange (or other utilty to read dos disks.
Hope this helps...

1. Problem porting: MAC -> DOS -> OS/2 DOS

I have written a large C++ application (command line driven, straight ANSI
C++, with Metrowerks Codewarrior) on the Mac for a client that prefers to
use DOS. I have succesfully ported it using Windows stationary to DOS
under Windows95.

However another client has tried it in the DOS window of OS/2 and it
produces the error message "This program can not run under DOS"

Any ideas? Any experience? Any special libraries needed for DOS under OS/2?

Help much appreciated.

Paul
