Trouble with Adaptec 2840 VLB SCSI card

I got a Yamaha CRD 102  about two weeks ago.  I have not been able to
use it yet because I cant get my Adaptec AHA2840 VLB Card to work.
The video graphics go bad on me when I install this card.  In DOS text
the colors change but I can normally still read the text.  In windows
the graphics is so jumbled that nothing is readable.  If I take out my
IDE card then this doesnt happen.  I tried a different IDE card with
no difference.  I tried all the different settings on the Adaptec 2840
card with the jumpers with no luck.  Just got a new Motherboard, 486
Deep Green with 3 VESA Master slots.  My old mb was very similar to
this one except older BIOS  and less a few other features.  This
manual on this board said it had 2 Master/ 3 Slave VESA slots.  With
the new board I have the Cyrix 5x86 CPU and the old board has the DX/2
66.  I had similar problems with the old board except one time I had
it where the graphics was OK but the system didnt recognize the SCSI
card.  The two IDE cards are VLB type, one is a Promise 2300.  Help by
anybody would be appreciated.
