and display ..Every time i try to access the screensaver program, computer
will  not open this.. after waiting awhile, i press ctrl,alt,del and the
screen says that display is not responding. How can I get into my screen

Hi Susan,

What happens, if anything, if you switch to another screen saver first before adjusting the settings?

You might try going to Control Panel>>Add/Remove Programs>>Windows Setup>>Accessories and remove the check from "Screen Savers" , click your way out, go back in and reinstall the "Screen Savers" to see if they'll work now. You may need to reinstall your display adapter drivers too. Good luck.

Depending on EXACTLY when it freezes (when selecting the screensaver tab,
when choosing a screensaver), it could either be:

1. Video driver issue;
2. Damaged copy of desk.cpl (which can be replaced using system file
checker).
3. Possibly damaged screensaver/s. If you have any non-Windows supplied
screensavers installed, search for all files with a SCR file type and rename
temporarily or uninstall, then try reinstalling screensavers as advised by
Jack.
