I get a message that the service has not started when I access a search
page. How do I turn that on?

Paul:
If this is on your live site, ask your host to start the index server and
build a catalog for your site.

Index Server does not start automaticly with windows. The default is
starting manually.

Contact your host and ask them to start the service...they will need to
build a catalog for your site in Index Server.

1. Problem with Search Page

I have a search page on our Intranet which I setup using
FrontPage 2000.

It has worked fine until ealier this week. Whenever
someone enters a search criteria and presses 'Start
Search' they get the following error:

Error "The content index is corrupt. " (0xc0041800)
encountered while processing the query "$contents float
& ! #vpath \iisadmin* &! #vpath \iishelp* &! #vpath
\iissamples* &! #vpath *\_vti* & ! #vpath *\_private\* & !
#vpath *\_derived\* & ! #vpath *\_themes\* & ! #vpath
*\_overlay\* & ! #vpath *\_fpclass\* & ! #vpath
*\_borders\* & ! #vpath *\toc.htm* & ! #vpath
*\tocproto.htm* & ! #vpath *.class & ! #vpath *.css".

Query Syntax Help

As I see from the message, it appears that the index of
the pages is somehow corrupt. I have republished the site,
however it has not rectified the problem.

Can anyone tell me what files need to be regenrated and
how to do this.

Thanks in advance.
