Y2K and all that jazz.

Y2K and all that jazz.

According to MS, frontpage 97 is *not* Y2K compliant....

(http://www.microsoft.com/technet/topics/year2k/product/user_view9934E...)

and the "recommended fix" is (surprise, surprise) "Upgrade to FP98".

But the above webpage states that the non-compliancy is because of
an *OS* date problem.

95 OSR2 is Y2K compliant, and thus fixes the "OS" bug.
So, according to MS's own statement, this fixes the FP 97
non-compliancy.
Why, then, am I recommended to upgrade FP, when upgrading to OSR2 should
have fixed the problem?

1. Y2K error on current date

I thought I had fixed the date at www.orbisoft.com/index.htm from showing
"192000" instead of "2000" on my webpages. However when I was on some-one
else's computer who had Netscape 4 it came out as "100".

If anyone has script for "Monday, January 24, 2000" that is Y2K, IE, NN, Mac
& PC Compliant, could I have it?

This is what I have currently got:

<script language="JavaScript">

date=new Date();

var month_name = new Array(12);
month_name[0]="January";
month_name[1]="February";
month_name[2]="March";
month_name[3]="April";
month_name[4]="May";
month_name[5]="June";
month_name[6]="July";
month_name[7]="August";
month_name[8]="September";
month_name[9]="October";
month_name[10]="November";
month_name[11]="December";

var month_num=date.getMonth();

var day_name = new Array(7);
day_name[0]="Sunday";
day_name[1]="Monday";
day_name[2]="Tuesday";
day_name[3]="Wednesday";
day_name[4]="Thursday";
day_name[5]="Friday";
day_name[6]="Saturday";

d0=date.getDay();

var Y2K = date.getYear();
var year;
if(Y2K == 00)
{
year=20;
else
{
year=20;

document.write(day_name[d0]+", " +month_name[month_num]+ " "
+date.getDate()+ ", " +date.getYear());
// --></script>

Thanks
