Yellow borders around some Gif images when used as hyperlinks ? ? ?

Post by MaTT » Wed, 02 Dec 1998 04:00:00

It's gotta be something stupid I'm overlooking,  but I'm getting irritating
yellow borders around images when I set them as hyperlinks.  I'm using FP98,
and while I'm getting to know it pretty well,  I've never had this problem
in FP97,  so it just gets to me.

Any ideas?

TIA,

MaTT

FP defaults all image links to have a border.  Simply right-click on the
image, choose image properties, and then set the border explicitly to 0.
Voila!  Border gone!

You need to go to image properties and set border=0

Matt,

Right click on the image in the Editor, go to Image Properties, then click
the tab named Appearance.  Set border to '0', rather than the blank it will
no doubt be.

Problem gone!

Actually not. FP defaults to not specifying a border.
When no borders are specified, the browsers will default to showing a
border of 1 if the image is linked.

Why not try using a hotspot instead?

Will avoid a link border showing on the image

Right click on the image, select the Appearance tab and set the border to
zero (0).  I believe this will work to get rid of the border around an image
hyperlink.

Jan,

Using image maps is not a good idea if you expect search engines to index your pages by following
hyperlinks on your pages. Search engines do not follow image map links..
