Right click on the image in the Editor, go to Image Properties, then click
the tab named Appearance. Set border to '0', rather than the blank it will
no doubt be.
Problem gone!

Using image maps is not a good idea if you expect search engines to index your pages by following
hyperlinks on your pages. Search engines do not follow image map links..

1. Border around image used as a hyperlink
I have a graphic image with a transparent background that I want to use as a
hyperlink, but when I set a url in the properties of the image it puts a
border around the image. Is there a way to prevent this border?
