Permissions and Sub Webs

Permissions and Sub Webs

Post by Bernie Hun » Wed, 04 Nov 1998 04:00:00

I'd like to have two sub webs underneath my root web. I have both of them
created and they are both set to require passwords to get in. My problem is
that I want them to have different passwords and one not to be able to
access the other.

Any idea how to do this?

You will need to contact your hosting service if on NT. If on Unix you should be able to set you
permission by accessing the subweb after publishing, then Tools | Permissions.

No problem there, the host is I and it's NT. So I assume the answer on each
user account to restrict which folders they can access?

Has anyone published a quick and dirty ASP solution or tutorial of how to do
this with ASP rather than having to put users in the NT box?

1. Root web>sub web>sub web possible?

I was wondering if it was possible to create a sub web in a sub web?

so it would be  the root web then my web then another web inside mine?

The reason I ask is because I want to use to different themes....is this
possible without changing the first web (my web, not the root web!)  If so
please contact me and tell me how....please email not post to the newsgroup

thanks
Brett
