Ghostscript: PDF --> Jpeg bad curve render

Post by Fabrizio Accatin » Sat, 26 Jan 2002 02:42:28

I'm using Ghostscript 7.03 to convert PDF to JPEG.
I have a problem. A curve (i.e. a circle) in PDF is rendered in the
JPEG as segmented line instead of a continuous curve. That behaviour
does not apper with all ouput resolution: with 300 dpi is OK, 310 is

This is my command line:

BAD Result:
gswin32c -dNOPAUSE -q -dBATCH -sDEVICE=jpeg -r310 -dJPEGQ=90 -sOutputFi
le=310.jpg a.pdf

GOOD Result:
gswin32c -dNOPAUSE -q -dBATCH -sDEVICE=jpeg -r300 -dJPEGQ=90 -sOutputFi
le=300.jpg a.pdf

Any ideas?

P.S.: is this one the right newsgroup?

1. pdf-graph from jpeg->eps->pdf looks bad after pdflatex

Hello NG,

I know that I can include jpeg directly but the problem is that
I have an eps-file that was converted (via jpeg2ps.exe -h,
or by PaintShopPro) from jpg. Now I convert the eps-file
to pdf via eps2pdf. Viewed with Acrobat Reader everything
looks just fine with the pdf-file. But as soon as I include the
pdf-file in latex (pdflatex) the graph looks weired: inverse
colors (b/w) and somewhat torn sideways. At least the
size and the position in the latex output are okay.

Can somebody give me a hint (version trouble?, gv2.7, gs5.50,
will it work with higher versions?)

Mit freundlichen Gr?en / Best regards
