Meetings of the Software Quality Group are held on the 2nd Wednesday of each
month at the facilities of Sun Microsystems,  Burlington (Driving
directions below).

HEADLINE:  The Basics You Need to Start Working With When You Are All Alone
in the Lab

SPEAKER: Stephanie Beach, SQA Manager, Aspect Communications

DESCRIPTION:  This discussion is particularly focused for those newbie QA
engineers who need some
help getting started with developing their own Quality Department without
getting bogged down
in obscure statistics, reading tons of reports & literature, and purchasing
expensive tools. More experienced
QA Engineers and Managers should find some helpful information and will be
welcome to offer their
experience at the end of the workshop.

This workshop will include:

 The simple tools you need.
 How to handle the life cycles of your product.
 Reporting the progress of the product.
 Structure and organization of your Department.
 Cost justification.
 Beginning, middle and final reports. Who is your audience and how to write
to them.
 System Dynamics in SQA (if time allows)

Stephanie Beach is a Quality Assurance Manager / Engineer that has been
for Startup companies for the past 20 years. Finally settling down at
Aspect Communications in
Chelmsford.  Over the past 15 years, Stephanie has developed a practical,
no nonsense method of
starting a quality assurance department.

From 128/95
                   Take the Rt. 3 exit heading north (not the Middlesex
Turnpike exit if you're coming form the south).
                   From Rt. 3N take the first exit (which is Rt. 62 -
Bedford Ave).
                   Turn east toward Burlington.
                   Approximately 0.3 mile after the interchange, turn right
onto Network Drive, which leads to the campus on your right.

              Take the second drive off of Network Drive into the Sun
parking lot.
                   Park in the visitor lot and enter the lobby opposite the
Sun clock tower.
