The pre-IPO startup company located in Redwood Shores (CA) developes
Internet appliance software and has several open positions for QA
QA team members will be working with internet appliance software and
services: browser/chat/email/setup, as well as, Parental Control and
Portal server software on various hardware platforms, including PC,
Game players, DVD, set-top box, screen phones, etc.
The projects are combinations of products on OEM platforms for specific
company partners. These SQA aspects include the following: black box
testing, test case writing, writing/tracking bugs and project progress,
status, metrics, and reports; as well as, other tasks promoting the QA
QA Engineer (client-server, server side)
Specific Responsibilities and Requirements:
Black and white box testing of products (browser, email, chat, setup)
and projects (hardware platforms)
Testing websites and online help
Test case writing and updating
Writing and tracking bugs on products and projects
Writing/tracking product progress and status
Producing metrics/graphs and reports
Performing other various tasks needed to promote the QA effort
Setting up and maintaining computer hardware
Creating scripts and web pages for testing suites/code
Investigating and testing new server technology including tools (server
Testing the new server based services/products
Testing SSL on the new E-Commerce site
Testing and maintaining Linux-based server for LivePage and related
Working knowledge of Windows or NT, automation tools, scripting, Excel,
Prefer experience with internet appliances (set-top boxes, game
players, DVD, etc.).
Have excellent written and spoken English, including good grammar.
A background or degree in the computer science with at least 2+ years
