The Convex Division of Hewlett-Packard (Richardson, TX) has an open
positions  for a test development software engineer for message-passing

HP/Convex Division


Essential responsibilities  
   * Development and management of product test plans and test
        metrics for HP message-passing products.
   * Development of test software for HP's message-passing products.
   * Port and maintenance of third-party message-passing test codes.
   * Design and implementation of automated test methodology.
Marginal Responsibilities
   * Participate in product design and documentation review.
   * Investigate and apply novel approaches to product quality.

More than 30% overnight travel: No


   * B.S. in Computer Science, Engineering  or related discipline.  
   * 1 year experience doing software test or software development.
   * Strong knowledge of Unix programming, FORTRAN, and C.
   * Familiarity with parallel programming concepts.
   * Ability to learn quickly and work independently.

   * M.S. in Computer Science.
   * Direct experience designing and/or implementating message-passing
     applications, or developing test software for complex products.
   * Experience with Fortran 90, C++, Perl,  PVM and/or MPI.
   * Experience developing tests for parallel or distributed systems.

Minimum Qualifications
Bachelor's degree or equivalent in Computer Science or Engineering.
A strong background in software development with C and C++ in a
large-scale environment. A strong background in UNIX and/or NT as well
as shell programming.  Strong teamwork and technical communication skills
are also required.

Desired Qualifications
A strong background in UNIX and NT.  Experience with software test
tools from PURE/ATRIA, Mercury Interactive, or XOpen. Network and System
Management software development or testing experience.
