Quality assurance engineer
Description: quality assurance engineers (QAEs) report to the director of
quality assurance and typically operate as individual contributors in a
larger team. QAEs are responsible for executing the test plans, reporting
defects, and interfacing with software engineers in the assigned test area.
QAEs may also be charged with small to medium-sized test-design tasks. QAEs
cooperate with project leads and other team members in the execution of
Requirements: at least two years of experience in commercial software
testing and quality assurance. Degree in computer science or related field
preferred; familiarity with software testing methodologies and practices;
familiarity with relational database concepts; understanding of and
experience with Windows and the Unix environment; some experience with
scripting languages such as shell programming, Perl, or Tcl; experience with
the Web; good *and written communication skills as demonstrated by
previously written test plans; knowledge of test automation tools; ability
to thrive in a challenging, fast paced environment.
