A new spin-off company from Georgia Tech that has offices on campus
needs an entrepreneurial individual very capable of leading a group of
graduate students and others to complete the following task.
Develop a software package for a Pentium based PC to achieve real-time
control of a new commercial robotic machine using:
Windows NT (based on robustness, task scheduling capabilities, and industrial standards)
A commercial real-time extension of NT (uses C calls with standard C++ compilers)
A commercial high-level machine control code (also in C, for reference motion generation, error checking, external communications. Runs concurrently but not real-time)
A GUI interface in Visual C++ for manual machine set-up
Appropriate interface cards for encoder inputs, analog outputs
Could be a senior or higher Computer Science, Computer Engineering, or
other person with relevant experience. Ph.D. students are developing
the control algorithms as thesis projects.
