Q: looking for Source Code Management Tool

Post by Christian Knapmey » Fri, 24 Nov 1995 04:00:00

Hi everyone,

I'm looking for some tool to do source code management on PC,
compareable to SCCS or RCS under Unix. I'd like to have
a "history" for my sources with the possibility to retrieve older
versions, and a "reserve/replacing" mechanism. (maybe even with
multiuser capabilities?)

Freeware/Shareware is welcome, the best would be a package complete with
sources.

Please mail me or post, if you know of any tools.

Thanx & Greetings,
  Christian

RCS and many other Unix tools were ported to MS-DOS about 5 years ago by

Check the FAQs for relevant ftp sites.

GNU's RCS is available for DOS.  No GUI for it afaik.

Commercially there is the MKS toolkit and Microsoft's SourceSafe,
both with GUIs.  There is also something called PVCS, but I _really_
don't like that one -- far too slow in my experience.
