winpoet 2.0 download (where?)

salutations:

I've had Bell Atlantic DSL for two months now and aside from the
omnipresent "profile problem" the service is pretty consistent. I
usally average a download of 50-55K and up of 6K. My pacakage
came win WinPoet 1.4, should I be upgrading to 2.0, and if so where
can I get it.......

j/

btw-still have tcp-ip binded to the nic, should I remove it,
would that give me any increase in speed?

James,

Earthlink used to have it on their site. I haven't found it yet
though....if you'd like, I can email you a copy of it. - Your call.

James,

go to:

ftp.earthlink.net/pub/win95_98/dsl_customers_only/standalone

here you will find winpoet20.exe

I had problems letting my browser handle the ftp site....so I used
WS_FTP.

This is for earthlinks DSL,I heard that it is incccompatible with Bell
Atlantic. Is this true? Has anyone used this with Bell Atlantics?

Mark,

Originally, that's where I got 2.0. From what I gather, only a trial
version is located at the iVasion site. I'm currently using that version
(2.0 - d/l'd from the Earthlink site) on my BA account - and it works.

I didn't try it until I saw a few other people out there using it (from
BA).

Snip

When you download 2.0 does it self install over 1.4 or do you have to
delete 1.4 ???

I don't know if it installs over itself. I've always found it best to
uninstall and then reinstall - that's what I did.

REMEMBER: Don't keep the default path - Install WinPoet 2.0 in the
following folder:

C:\BANetDSL

1. Anyone have WinPoET 2.0, Win98 and ICS working

I have Win98 and WinPoET 2.0 installed but cannot seem to get ICS to
work with this setup.  Does anyone have this working? I see many posts
regarding the fact that the WinPoET Adapter will be available to ICS
but I do not get it as an option.  Help anyone.

BTW I have my ADSL working in a net with AllAboard, it was quick and
easy but want to try it with ICS.

Roberto

PS My network is set up correctly since I have it working in a shared
enviorment so it is nothing to do with the network or hub or ...  I
just need to know if I missed something during the install of WinPoET
2.0 and ICS
