smbd won't start and nmbd starts no problem.  I have been through various
logs and have found the following in log.smb

[1999/05/12 11:21:01, 1] smbd/server.c:(614)
  smbd version 2.0.3 started.
  Copyright Andrew Tridgell 1992-1998
[1999/05/12 11:21:01, 1] smbd/files.c:(219)
file_init: Information only: requested 10000 open files, 1014 are
available.
[1999/05/12 11:21:01, 0] locking/shmem_sysv.c:(563)
Can't create or use semaphore [1]. Error was No space left on device
[1999/05/12 11:21:01, 0] locking/locking.c:(169)
ERROR: Failed to initialise share modes!

Can someone point me in the right direction.

Thanks,

1. smbd (v 2.0.7) won't start

We have an old file server that is running Debian 2.2 and  kernel 2.2 and
for some reason nmbd and smbd stopped running and it will not start. No
changes have been made to the server. I can get into swat and we still
cannot get ti to start. I can get to it command line but both will still not
start. I have tried several switches but still no luck. I have tried the
debugging but no messages and no errors. Any help would be great.
Thanks in advance.
