I'm having some problems getting samba to work with HP-UX 10.20.
Seems for some reason the ports 137 and 139 cannot be opened.
The error message hints that they are already in use.
The /etc/services file is stock, and the one I've used dozens of times
on other servers. the /etc/inetd.conf file is correct as well.
This baffles me. The HP-UX 10.20 has the latest y2k patches, and
there in would normally lie my hope - except that I just setup a stock
hp735 with stock hp-ux 10.20 - and it's doing now the exact same thing.
Attempts to fire smbd or nmbd with the -D option, and logging set
high give the error messages in the /var directory. Both are
complaining of the same problem.
My samba is a 1.9.16p11. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
