Because no-one has uploaded perfect snaps of all of Hewson's games....?
If you have every Hewson game complete with loading screens, etc. and you can be
bothered to upload them all as one big .ZIP file then I'd be happy to create
such a directory......

I don't have all the Hewson games, but I sure would like to have them.
That's why I asked. The Hewson games I have seen are all great,
especialy the ones by Rafaelle Cecco (you know, Exolon, *noid).
I'm sure that with a little bit of help from everybody we could
assemble the Hewson Collection. I don't know how many titles were
released, let alone their names, but here are the ones I remember:

Exolon
*noid
*noid II
Stormlord
Stormlord II
Marauder
Zynaps

Some of these are already on NVG (without loading screens, I think).
Can anyone complete the list?

Hmmm, well I remember these in addition to those above:

Technician Ted
Avalon
Dragontorc
Uridium
Ranarama
Firelord
Starquake
Quazatron
Magnetron
Nebulus
Wizard's Lair (or was that a Bubble Bus game?)

... out of memory error...

No, that's it. Can't remember any more for the time being. I'll have
to wrack my brains a bit more.

Cheers,

Rich

  Draughts Genuis
  Eliminator (+ 128 version)
  Evening Star
  Exolon (+ 128 version)
  Fantasia Diamond
  Firelord
  Gunrunner
  Heathrow ATC
  Impossaball
  Intensity
  Klimax
  Kraal
  3D Lunattack
Marauder (128 version only; was there a 48K version?)
  Maze Mania
  Nebulus
  Nightflite
  Nightflite 2
  Ocean Conqueror
  Pyracurse
  Quazatron
  Quest Adventure
  Ranarama
  3D Seiddab Attack
  Southern Belle
  3D Space Wars
  Stormlord
  Stormlord 2: Deliverance

                              commercial 128 release?)
  Uridium
  Zynaps

Quote:> Wizard's Lair (or was that a Bubble Bus game?)

It was indeed from Bubble Bus, and was followed by the excellent
Starquake from the same author (Stephen Crow).

Well, there you have it. If we manage to ZIP that lot and upload it to
NVG, I'm sure we'll all feel much better. Here's what we'll do: I'll
ZIP mine if you ZIP yours...   :)

See ya.

What about "Solomon's Key"? Wasn't it a Hewson game? I seem to
remember that the typeface was identical to Exolon's...

As I recall, Marauder was a 48K game. There was a data block somewhere
on the tape, which contained the 128K soudtrack, that was loaded only
when the sound chip was detected. Exolon and *noid (Best Game
Ever!) also had 128K sounds, except those were always loaded.

Nah, Soloman`s Key was published by US Gold. It has the same typeface as
Exolon as they were both written by the same guy, Raf Cecco (I can`t spell
his first name!). What happened to him - I know he went on to work for
Vivid Image and wrote First Samurai on the Amiga, but what then?

Yeah, I'd like an answer to that question myself

1. Pyracurse (Hewson)

Hi folks,

Did anybody out there ever manage to complete Pyracurse?  I liked that
game (still have the tape floating around somewhere), but never really
made any progress.  I eventually resorted to hacking it, looking for an
infinite lives cheat, but never managed to find one of those either...

Also, has anyone ever found a .SNA (or .Z80 or whatever) of it that
actually works?  I grabbed one from WoS a year or so ago but it was a
dud...

Cheers,

John W.
