Need Pathworks Files for WFWG 3.11

Post by msaw.. » Mon, 19 Dec 1994 20:37:34

I need the files listed below for installing WFWG systems connected to a LAN that
has a Pathworks V5.1 server.

        DECNB.386
        DECNET.386
        PCSA.DRV

gatekeeper.dec.com does not have them.  Does anybody know where I can get these files?  I don't
have the time to wait for our supply system and DEC to get them to me...

Thanks for all help.

Get pwwfw41.zip from gatekeeper.dec.com or more properly now
ftp.digital.com    it's in /pub/DEC/PCI

This kit contains the binaries.  The other pwwfw files are docs that
shows you how to properly install PATHWORKS V4.1 with WfWg V3.11 to use the
MS protected mode redirector.

1. HELP file permissions modified by WfWg/TCP/IP-32/DEC Pathworks

Our current configuration is WfWG 3.11 using the MS TCP/IP-32 network software
connected to a DEC Pathworks v4.1 network.

The problem we are seeing is that when we write files back to the UNIX server
the permissions are changed from what there were previously.  For example, if
file XXX.txt has rw-rw-r permissions and then I edit it and save it back to
the file server the permissions become rw-r--r--. This causesd problems since
these file are shared amongst our development group.

How does WfWG/MS TCP/IP-32 determine the permissions of the files that are to
be written back to the UNIX file server ??

Since the MS TCP/IP-32 software is beta MS Tech. support was not able to assist
us in this problem. If anyone has had this problem or knows the answer please
respond.

Thanks

Tim
