Token Ring Problems...

Post by Joshua Jens » Tue, 29 Oct 1996 04:00:00

All the token ring cards I'm trying to use with Win NT Server 3.51 Service
pack 4 don't work...  the closest I get is a ring insertion for about 10
seconds... then it takes itself out of the ring automatically.
Anybody recommend a token ring card that definitely *WORKS* with nt server
3.51?

Token Ring Problems...

Are you sure there isn't a problem with the ring you are trying to
insert into?

An 18 second delay is an indication of failure to participate in Ring
Poll.

See if you can insert into an isolated hub/mau.

1. Token Ring problem

Running a NetWare 4.10 server with an Ethernet segment and a Token Ring
segment. The TR segment is loaded as follows in the AUTOEXEC.NCF:
LOAD C:TOKEN PORT=A20
BIND IPX TO TOKEN NET=B

The MAU being used is an IBM 8228. Sometime last week, the 4
workstations connected to the TR segment started having problems
connecting. When the LAN driver is loaded, the board fails to insert
itself into the ring. The cabling has been checked and was found to be
OK.

Could my problem be at the server? Is there something I'm not loading
right?

Any ideas would be appreciated!

Thanks!

Jacques
