Hello all! I am a student at Sonoma State University in California. I am
setting up a small network in my apartment and word like to have a ISDN
connection to the internet, school, and my employer. I will be running
various NOS's including Windows NTAS 3.51, Netware 4.1, and Netware 3.12.
(This is for educational and testing purposes) I will be running either
10base2 (thinnet BNC) or 10baseT (UTP) cabling. I already have a 3Com
3C590 ethernet combo card in the server and a generic NE2000 card in my
workstation. I would like to be able to connect to Netware 4.1, Netware
3.12, and NTAS 3.5 based networks via the ISDN along with the internet.
Please note that my current ISDN knowledge is fairly limited and my
current ISDN product knowledge is also. Feel free to talk as technical as
you would like though. I can figure it out.
So my questions are:
1. What products might you suggest for this situation?
2. Are the same type or ISDN bridges or routers needed on either
end of the ISDN line?
3. Should I choose a internal or external device?
4. Any other advise or knowledge you wish to share is great!
Thank you for any responces you may have!
