Remote Control via U.S. Robotics ISDN????

Remote Control via U.S. Robotics ISDN????

Post by Larry Rek » Mon, 18 Mar 1996 04:00:00

Help.  I have the new U.S. Robotics software, the new Microsoft ISDN
accelerator pack, and a 128K U.S. Robotics ISDN card in both my work
and home computers.

How can I connect them for remote control?  Directly, not over the
internet.  Isn't there one software program out there what will allow
me to call my work computer and remotely control it???????

HELP!!!!!

thanks,

Larry Rekow

Remote Control via U.S. Robotics ISDN????

PcAnywhere SHOULD be able to, but can't.  Checked it out thoroughly.
Carbon Copy has and upgrade patch for it's program to support ISDN,
but it only works if the ISDN adaptor is CAPI compliant.  I'm checking
with REACH OUT, and they say something about ISDN.  I also checked
with LAPLINK, but they flat out stated that they can't do it direct
from one computer another with internal ISDN cards.  I challenge
anyone to find me the software solution I'm looking for.  I can
configure PC Anywhere to dial out, but not to wait for a call via the
ISDN adaptor.  Also, setting up the Dial-up network server that comes
with Windows 95 also doesn't allow one to use anything other than a
serial modem to define as the device to wait for a call.

Anyone got any ideas?

Stac does claim ISDN support in Reachout 5.0.  I haven't checked out the feature
for myself.  Reachout 5.0 also works over IP.

The accelerator pack doesn't have the driver for the USR 128k yet.
When it does, you will be able to do what you want..

You can try to do it with netmanages chameleon software. go to their
homepage and talk to them at  netmanage.com
