None of June 2003 Xbox Magazine CD's work

The demo CD of June 2003 "Official Xbox Magazine"
doesn't work. It is the one with the Halo 2 exclusive in
it. I returned mine and got a new CD, no luck. I tried
different Xbox machines, no luck. I went to EBGames store
and they said none of theirs worked either in any of their
stores.
I have every demo CD from Xbox mag so I compared the
CD to the others. The June CD has a silver color on the
face of the CD, all the others have a gold color. The June
CD feels thinner than the others as well. It looks like
they changed their supplier.
It also looks like Quality Control messed up.
There is a nice Halo 2 poster and some cool news on
Halo 2 in the mag but don't count on the CD working.

Weird as it sounds: have you tried boiling the CD?  (Label
side up, for about ten seconds or so.)  Worked with the XBL
beta disc when it didn't work too well...<shrug>

Word! My June OXM demo disc didn't work either.... kept getting a dirty disc
error.... All my other games work fine, including previous OXM discs I've
gotten.... I also noticed the color of the discs was a bit different than
previous OXM discs...

Has anybody else been having this problem? Anybody NOT having it?

mine worked too, but Halo 2 is just extra content not a
playable demo.

Mine didn't work either, but I did get a rather kind email back from OXM
apologizing (I had emailed asking for a replacement disk) and informing me
that a replacement is on the way.

I thought that their customer service was REALLY over the top because I was
thinking my Disk issue was localized.

I guess they have been inundated with complaints, etc.

I too will try boiling my Disk, this worked in the past when OXM first
started out they had Disks that wouldn't work, and then sometimes it did,
etc.

The "boiled disk fix" did work then...

Bottom line, there is something fishy in relation to June's OXM disks...

mine worked, but not very well.  It gave me a DD error and stuttered during
some of the cut scenes.

Well mine seems to work just fine... however while
watching the trailer of Halo2 it is very jumpy... however
it seems to me like all of my OXM discs have done that...

That's right BOILING WORKED. I took a pot with 1 inch
of water in it, brought it to a boil. Took the pot OFF THE
HOT ELEMENT and put disc in right away, 1 minute one side
and then flipped it over for 1 minute the other side for a
total of 2 minutes. Took the disc out, dried it off and
let cool for 5 minutes and put it in the Xbox and IT
WORKED. I'm doing this anytime I have a disc problem. By
the way the Matrix trailer is cool, and I saw the movie
today, DEEP.

Mine didn't work either although it looked like it had ben abused by our
friends in the Post Office. There is a huge scuff on the CD.

What did you use to flip it over with?
