Which sendmail version do you use?
8.9.3 and later are "safe".

Hey Claus

Its Sendmail 8.9.3 but the sendmail.cf file is a little earlier due to the
fact on Sendmail 8.9.3 standard, i can't get virtual domains (dialup and
permanent) to work they get 550 relay denied.

i used a check_rcpt.m4 which includes LocalIP checking but i would prefer to
use a more standard installation..

I sent a previous email see below
----------------------------------------------------------------------------
----------
i'm trying to set up anti-relay on Sendmail 8.9.3

it seems to work okay with Feature(access_db..etc.etc.) but done of my
virtual domains can send mail (even though they are in the access db). they
all get error 550 relay denied.

It seems to fail on check_rcpt with error 550 relay denied even though the
domains are listed in both the access and relay-allow files.

setup:
my network is mikka.net.au
a virtual site is sitea.com.au  (and they are a dial in customer)
a virtual site is siteb.com.au (and they have their own mail server which i
am secondary MX to)

how  do i set it up so that the virtual sites can relay through me ?

You need to have the virtual domains in class w (add to your .mc file
FEATURE(`use_cw_file')
if not yet there: check your .cf file, it must have 'Fw' in it, e.g.,
Fw/etc/mail/sendmail.cw
and then use that file).

It explains the situations which may cause a problem.

Hello Claus,

finally worked it out it i had an incorrect format of relay-domains file, i
listed the domains rather than simply listing my network class C ip.

I had it sendmail working with all my domains for the past 3 years. It's
just that i think i implemented one of your old patches to check via LocalIP
and relayto (i think it was yours) and it worked well for 2 years but
recently (i knew the day would come)  found spammers using me as a relay and
therefore ORBS and such blocked me .

telnet  to mail-abuse.org  is a great facility to test your mail realy
setup. As you know it's difficult testing and debugging on the same machine
as the Sendmail server is on.

Regs, and thanks for your help.

No.

8.10 has a new FEATURE:

virtuser_entire_domain
If the virtusertable is enabled and VIRTUSER_DOMAIN or
VIRTUSER_DOMAIN_FILE is used, this feature will cause
addresses to be searched in the map if their domain
parts are subdomains of elements in class $={VirtHost}.

1. relaying double @s inside quotes <"spamvictim@xxx.com"@localhost.com>

I've got my sendmail setup in access.db so that it allows sending

when I try to send mail to...

...it seems to work, bad.

how I can stop this?  Or can someone explain to me why it's happening?

I just using the default macros that came with 8.12.1

The bit in sendmail.cf under Parse0 looks like this...

address"

address"

I've tried adding...

... but it doesnt do anything.
