SM 8.7.5 all outgoing mail queued

SM 8.7.5 all outgoing mail queued

Post by keith alsto » Fri, 01 Nov 1996 04:00:00

  I've just installed sendmail 8.7.5 on a Sun ultra machine (Sol 2.5)
incoming mail gets delivered normally. "All" outgoing mail sits in the
queue for some time and then is delivered. I start sendmail with

/usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q15m

I notice that over time I've got many
/usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q15m lines in the process table. Is this normal?
also I notice that if I do /usr/lib/sendmail -q -v just about all
of the mail in the queue is delivered normally. Whats going on here?
Any clues would be greatly appreciated. Thank You.

1. SM Migration: SM 4.1->8.9

I am trying to move all my from a sparc running
solaris 2.4 with its default sendmail version SMI-4.1 to another
solaris box running solaris 2.5 and sendmail 8.9, is this do able?

What steps do I need to take to ensure I do not lose any information
from the current once I move it to the new box?

Thanks for your help.
