"You have mail" client

"You have mail" client

I'm looking for a simple IMAP client to run from a unix shell that will
query a server for a user, and print the familiar "You have mail" or
"You have new mail"

Does anyone know of one?

Look at chkmail, one of the imap-utils.
        ftp://ftp.cac.washington.edu/mail/imap-utils.tar.Z
You need the IMAP toolkit to build it:
        ftp://ftp.cac.washington.edu/mail/imap.tar.Z

1. having multiple recipients in the "To:" header but each recipient having different email content

Hi,

I've spent about an hour looking for a possible solution and have failed.

Often times I need to send emails to a group of people, and I would like for
them to be able to see who the other recipients are and be able to reply to
the group.  So having the multiple recipients showing up in the "To:" is
essential.

However, each person receiving the email needs to have slightly different
email content.

Perhaps this means I need to send 10 different emails (if there are 10
recipients).
But this is okay as long as each email contains all 10 people in the "To"
header.
Or perhaps there's a more elegant way.

Any help or assistance will be greatly appreciated.  This will save me so
much
time and will make my students' lives so much better.

thank you in advance,
Sunny.
