I am trying to set up PC-pine 4.44 with my Blueyonder ISP IMAP4
account. It successfully retrieves the various folders and the number
of messages within each one, but fails to get the attributes of each
message, giving "IMAP protocol error: FETCH Fetch attribute". It also
intersperses this error with an "Out of resources" from the server.

It's probably the ISP's fault, especially as I've used the same
version of pc-pine to read mail on a different account, but the
strange thing is that version 4.20 and all previous to that read the
Blueyonder account without the problems described above (however,
different errors crop up in 4.20, such as claiming the 'Sent Items'
folder doesn't exist when trying to FCC to it on send, then saying it
already exists if I try to create it; filtering also falls over,
saying that the search expression is invalid).

Any help would be much appreciated.

I researched the problem further and found that it was indeed the ISP
not conforming to the IMAP standard; pine 4.21+ retrieves more header
attributes than 4.20, resulting in the out of resource error, as their
IMAP server only handles up to 16 attributes >=(
