NetMeeting Sharing in Windows 2000

Post by Crai » Sat, 15 Feb 2003 00:57:55

The NetMeeting share button is grayed out.  I have enabled sharing
once before, but it is now gray again.

I am using Windows 2000 SP3, Office 2000, and IE 6.0 with all of the
latest updates.

I have also repaired IE and Office 2000.

Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks.

Craig

NetMeeting Sharing in Windows 2000

You will be able to share an application or a file only when you are in a
meeting.  Click on Host Meeting....   (under the Call menu).  Then click OK.
Next, click on Tools>Sharing.  You will see a listing of the applications or
files open at that time on your machine.  Click the one you want to share
and you will see the Share button available then.

1. Remote Desktop Sharing (Windows 2000 -> Windows 98)

All Professionals,

I currently have a computer running Windows 98 Second Edition with
NetMeeting 3.01 (4.4.3388) and Windows 2000 Professional (Non-Beta) with
NetMeeting 3.01 (?.?.?????) I am unsure of the ending version, but I believe
it is the same.  I have Remote Desktop Sharing running and active on my
Windows 98 computer.  I can viably connect to the machine from a Windows NT
4.0 machine running NetMeeting 3.01, but when I try to connect with my
Windows 2000 machine, I receive a security error.  I believe the message
concerns the security levels and the privacy encryption levels.  I believe I
am running the correct encryption levels on both machines, but I could be
wrong.  I was hoping someone will have a helpful suggestion to my quandry.

Thank you,

Lael Black
