A couple of unsolved problems-

Duplicates of messages appear when the original is deleted.

Message that says "No response in 45 seconds, keep trying"

Are you leaving mail on the server?  About the only reason to do that is
to use Eudora in one location to read mail while using Eudora or something
else somewhere else to really process the mail.

Quote:>Message that says "No response in 45 seconds, keep trying"

Very slow name lookups are one cause; the one I typically see.  Domain
name lookups are done in a *very* distributed database.  Very slow
anything else is another (eg, perhaps, huge message stuck in your ISP's
mail queue <Unix machine>).  Both those would apply to sending; I haven't
seen it during receiving, although letting your mail build up to several
meg by leaving mail on server might do it...poor POP server gets to read
through it to find the live stuff.

It was a problem with the server. Huge mail messages were clogging
things up.

Thanks, Carol

1. change 45 second delay [Q]

Hello There !

Is this possible to change the delay of 45 seconds when Eudora is talking
to the server ?

I have a client who have a 1200 bps modem, connect with PPP and when he
try to fetch his mail, he receive a message "Error, did not have any
respond from the server in 45 seconds"...
thanks
