can somoene tell how to enable sendmail to do relay.
This is the message that I get when trying to use it.

The message could not be sent because one of the recipients was rejected by

'morlock.wox.org', Protocol: SMTP, Server Response: '551 we do not relay',
Port: 25, Secure(SSL): No, Server Error: 551, Error Number: 0x800CCC79

1. Sendmail Relay no relay

hey,

I'm trying to set up a relay server for mail.  Now the problem is it's
not relaying, which of course brings me no joy.  Here's the scoop.

Server is outside the firewall.

Redhat 7.1

Before we get any further I'm not recieving any relaying denied errors
either.

I've added the right domains to /etc/mail/relay-domain and to
/etc/mail/access and did the makemap.

I did in fact restart sendmail.

I am quite sure it's not an IPchains problem as in the course of
trying to get this running everything is set to ACCEPT.  (yes I know
my bad, if I can get the damn thing running I promis I tighten up the
security)

I can send mail from the sever itself out to the world so it's working
(sort of)

If this were a netware server I'd say the sendmail wasn't bound to the
external IP.  Is there anything analagous to that with Linux.

I'm not a complete newbie but this is getting frustrating.

any suggestions would be appreciated

Thanks in advance

Colin
