Hi,

I was trying install sendmail 8.12.1. but got a weired message when I
started sendmail deamon
#/usr/lib/sendmail -bd -q30m
451 4.0.0 /etc/mail/sendmail.cf: line 65: fileclass: cannot open
'/etc/mail/local-host-names': Group writable directory

The local-host-names was created, having the following attributions:
-rw-r--r--   1 root     other         28 Nov 27 17:08 local-host-names

Need your suggestions. Thanks,

I think this one (or a variant of it) is in the FAQ.  One of the
directories /, /etc, or /etc/mail is group-writable.  To fix it,

chmod g-w / /etc /etc/mail

Cheers
