regular e-mail -> Usenet

Hello -

I would like to know if there is the ability to send regular
e-mail to a newsgroup independent of the posting facility in
"nn".  I have been told that there are servers that accomplish
this, but so far I have been unsuccesfull.  The reason for
this is that I have associates who read indirect "digests" of
newsgroups on their secure net machines, which are practically
obsolete.  They would like to post to a newsgroup "blind" with
the caveat that responses be to them directly.

Thank you for your time, advice, and opinion.

1. Help, anyone have email<->USENET gateway software?

I've perused a number of FAQs, consulted archie (but apparently not with
the right keywords), etc. but to no avail...

I'm looking for a PD package which will allow me to set up a
bidirectional gateway between a mailing list and one or more USENET
newsgroups.  I'm pretty familiar with all this stuff; I've used
majordomo, procmail, etc.

Can anyone point me to a package?  Thanx muchly,
