ICS on Win2K and MSN Messenger Voice and File transfer

Hi,

Microsft' KB recommend to install Proxy server to get MSNM voice chatting
file transfer working over Internet Connection Sharing (ICS).  However, I
have seen articles that you can map ports on the sharing computer to get it
work.  I have tried different settings and still no luck.

Exactly how do you set it up? and has anyone get it to work just by adding
an "Application" or "Services" in the Settings?

Thanks

Larry

This is MSN Messenger 4.5 on both ends. And the Sharing computer is W2k Pro,
on a DSL line.

Msn Messenger 4.5 requires a NAT with UPnP NAT traversal support -- no
manipulation of ports will solve the problem -- a number of SOHO router
makers have committed to support ( and are apparently almost ready to ship
product) but the the only thing that supports in now that I know of is XP
ICS.

You may be facing a secondary problem if the DSL modem is also a NAT -- DSL
providers that use NATs have so far not committed ( or have indicated that
will not support) UPnP NAT traversal.
