Casio CTK-540 help

Post by Edward J. Smiley Jr » Wed, 23 Jun 1999 04:00:00

I want to hook up a Casio CTK-540 to my girlfriends computer.  Just to
tell you, I have no music experience.  I tried to read Casio's
directions, but did not understand them at all.  Here is what I have:

The CTK-540 (duh!)
midi cable
Yamaha OPL-SAX sound card
Winjammer Pro software

Here is what it says under the Midi tab in the multimedia folder of the
control.

Midi Output

Single instrument checked
-Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
        FM Synthesizer (2)
        Microsoft GS Wavetable SW Synth
        MPU-401 (3)

I think that this might be OK, but I just don't know how to set it up
the casio.  Any help would be greatly appreciated.  If someone is using
this keyboard, could you please help me set it up?

Thanks!
Ed

1. Help: Yamaha PSR-540 or Casio CTK-731???

Hello-

I have a few hundred dollars (about $500.00) and want to buy a keyboard.
Since I really just play acoustic guitar, I wanted to find one with a
sequencer
and disk drive for MIDI playback. The two I have narrowed the search down to
are the Yamaha PSR-540 and the Casio CTK-731. Anyone have any experience
with either of these keyboards?  If so, please e-mail to the address
below.

Thanks....Jeff
